Estée Lauder - Double Wear Foundation

I have had this foundation for a while now, but I have a total love-hate relationship with it!!

I will only wear this in the Winter!

In the summer it completely dries my skin out, but in the Winter its perfect.

I look for a fuller coverage foundation in the colder months as I go very pale and all my imperfections are shown!

This is a lightweight foundation but is a very good coverage.

I have found I really need to work it into the skin, I use my fingers to apply and a stippling brush (real techniques) to blend it in, otherwise it is really noticeable!

Due to this you have to be careful of the colour, I would suggest getting a consultation so you make sure you get the correct shade for your skin.

I bought mine whilst on a day trip to Constance and picked out shade 1N1.

I find it stays on all day and doesn't come off on my clothes, which is great when its cold out and you need to wear a scarf!

It contains SPF too which is great for those days when its a little sunny and your shopping, so you don't need too much protection!

You can also get this foundation in a lighter form that may be better for the summer, I think that will be one of my next purchases ready for those glorious months!

So all in all it is a great foundation, just beware it is a pretty full coverage!

Also, its great for all skin types!

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

  1. Great honest review. II seem to read so many utter raves about this product that it's nice to read a review that offers the opinion that it has flaws.
I tried this years ago when trying foundations out to wear for my wedding. I bought a bottle but i soon found out that the liquid was too hard to blend to a natural finish. It also dried out my very oily skin and clung to every dry patch. The colour also oxidised and the colour i chose soon became obviously not the right colour match. I had testers of other colours but nothing matched as the colour (as i said) oxidised.
I do however now own the Estee Lauder Full coverage in shade 3.0 and it's brilliant. I mix it with a lighter foundation to use over my entire face and on it's own in very small amounts as a concealer.
