Clarisonic Mia 2

CLARISONIC MIA 2

I was recently given the opportunity to test this wonderful device. I had seen so many pictures of them on Instagram and videos on You Tube, that when the opportunity arose, I just couldn't turn it down. Although now I wish I had...but NOT for a bad reason, simply because now I really, really want one!

I instantly fell in love with it, it's pretty light for what it is and is super easy to use. After removing my make up with a wipe, I put some face wash onto the brush attachment and away I went. It has an automatic timer of two minutes, this is to prevent you from using it far too much. It also has a cool feature where it vibrates if you press it onto the skin too hard. The purpose of the Clarisonic is to clean your skin, not remove it!

I noticed a huge difference in my skin specially those horrid little blackheads around my nose. This is unfortunately a problem I will pretty much always suffer with as I have large pores, this just helped to reduce the look of them by really cleaning them out.

Once I put the brush to my face, I simply went all around using gentle circular motions. After doing so and seeing the amount of make up that had come off my skin (after using a wipe) I was both impressed and disgusted, I was disgusted at the thought of all the times I had gone to bed with this stuff still on my face!

I uploaded a picture to Instagram.....

It doesn't look so bad in the picture, I think the bathroom lighting mutes some of the colour, but it wasn't nice to look at.

After using it, I simply used a gentle cleanser on my face, followed by a light night time moisturiser.

It left my skin feeling amazing, it felt a little tight at first but I knew that was just from my skin being so clean and having the brushes on my skin.

I used the Clarisonic every other day, I think if I actually get my own way and my hubby buys me one I would use it every third day to really make sure my skin is super clean and to help with those horrible pores on my nose. I wouldn't use a brush like this every  day, as I suffer from dry skin, although I believe Clarisonic say it is safe to use it everyday.

I have definitely learned a lesson and that is... make up wipes on their own DO NOT work!

If you suffer with blackheads like I do , then I would definitely say try this. They can be a little pricey depending on the model you get, but I would say it is worth it.

It comes with this small charger that sits on the end and I believe clips in so you can just place it on there and not have to worry about it and there is no huge charger stand so you don't have to worry about using up lots more space.

Some details....

''What makes the Clarisonic brush unique is its sonic micro-massage technology. Here’s how it works: The brush itself does not rotate but makes 300 micro- oscillations per second — i.e., 300 micromotions backwards and forwards, a movement almost invisible to the naked eye. This frequency of 300 movements per second ensures effective cleansing and softening, while preserving skin elasticity. The brush acts like a gentle massage that does not displace a single millimeter of tissue. This unique technology is protected by a series of patents covering the oscillation movement, the frequency of 300 movements per second, as well as the motor and the brush head attachment system.

The sonic technology is complemented by carefully selected fibers, perfectly rounded at the tip so as not to disturb the skin. There is a choice of four brush heads for the face, according to skin type and sensitivity (very sensitive, sensitive, normal, enlarged pores), each with precisely measured diameter, fiber density, and length.
So what’s so special about Clarisonic brush fibers? They are designed with DuPont® Hytrel™ Super Soft filament, a fiber with definitive advantages over the nylon generally used in the cosmetics industry. The key benefit of DuPont® Hytrel™ Super Soft filament is that it is far more flexible and therefore much gentler on the skin. And since it absorbs six times less moisture than conventional fibers, it has a shorter drying time,  allowing fibers to retain their full flexibility. Lastly, it is completely resistant to bacteria.''

You can also use this little gem in the shower, there are just so many great things about it. I was honestly pouting at the post office when I sent it back!

Well that's my take on the Clarisonic Mia 2.

Have you tried any of the Clarisonic brushes?

  2. Good to hear you love it so much! My skin has been really bad lately. Lots of impurities and all... I have been using a different kind of 'brush' for a few weeks now, but I am not going to say too much about it yet :-)

  3. So how is this different than the original Mia? Is this your first time using a Clarisonic or do you have that too and think this is better?
