MAKE UP LOOK: RUSSET EYES

RUSSET EYES

I recently purchased a new mousse eyeshadow and couldn't wait to try it out. I tried this look with nude lips at first as it's not an eye look I would normally go for, but then I thought ah well.. I' already doing something I normally wouldn't so why not try a dark lip too. Plus I know lots of you like dark eyes and lips together.

It's also a great look what with the Christmas party season almost upon us!

I used quite a lot of products in this, you don't have too. It's just I'm not getting a great amount of sleep at the moment and wanted to make my skin look OK!

Here are a list of the products I used:

Base:
I mixed two foundations together as one was too dark and the other was too light (great way to get use out of your foundations all year round!) I used MAC Matchmaster Foundation in 1.0 with Smashbox Studio Skin 16 hour wear foundation in 2.3 (I had fake tan on when I got this!)

Under my eyes I used YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch in the lightest shade. I needed help to brighten up the area!

All over the skin I used Bourjois Java Rice Powder .

Eyes:

For the base colour I used Autograph Mousse Eyeshadow in Russet, then in the outer corners I took Roast from the Smashbox Smoke box palette. I then added some elf studio eyelashes from their Natural Lash Collection. Following that I lined my eyes with Smashbox Deep Bronze Gel Eyeliner. I added a thin coat of Revlon's lash Potion mascara to my top lashes and applied a layer of Covergirl lash blast volume (waterproof) mascara to the bottom lashes . I also used Maybelline's Master shape brow pencil in Blonde on my brows.

Cheeks:

I used YSL Dare to Glow in Fatal Red on my cheeks and lightly contoured using my Sleek Faceform Contouring Kit.

Lips:

I started by exfoliating my lips as I had already thought about using the dark lipstick. I used Lush Cosmetics Santa's Lip Scrub. I then put on a layer of the Maybelline Baby Lips, it's just the Intense Care balm with no colour. ( I did this at the start of the whole make up process!) Then when going for the nude lip look I used Revlon's Colour burst lipgloss in the shade Bejeweled. Then moved onto the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in Violine Strass.

I am aware that to read this it looks like quite a few products, but this isn't an everyday look for me so please bare that in mind!

What did you think of the look? I personally loved it with the nude and the dark lip.
