REVIEW: CLARISONIC PLUS

FACE & BODY SONIC CLEANSING

I recently had the opportunity to review the Clarisonic Mia 2 which I loved, I was then given another opportunity by the amazing team at Coolbrandz to review the Clarisonic Plus. Now this is not going to be a comparison post as they both have different strengths and to be honest it feels like it was so long ago that I reviewed the Mia 2 ( it really wasn't) that I don't feel it would be a fair comparison!

Anyway, onto Plus....

On opening the box, this is what I found

A sensitive brush head, body brush head, sample size Cleanser (30ml), sample size body Cleanser (60ml), universal voltage charging cradle and the body itself.

The box was full of information, this is something I really liked about it. There wasn't the need to go through the whole manual straight away, you could get the basics just from the box!

Now, some information on the Clarisonic Plus. I'm not going to go right into it because this would then turn into an extremely long post that you will stop reading and we don't want that!

The Basics

There are three different speed settings for the Face Brush head and two for the Body Brush Head. You can also opt for the T-timer when using the Face Brush Head and this will tell you how long to use the brush on each section (through beeps)

The brush itself is super easy to use, you have the top button which helps you decide which setting you would like to use and the power button below.

You can determine which settings you would like by simply turning the brush on and holding down the settings button, you will know which setting you are on according to the beeps.

You will need to charge the Clarisonic for 24 hours before you can use it, the lights on the back will tell you how far along the charge is.

I will say, whilst the docking station isn't so easy to take travelling, I do prefer it to the Mia 2 as all you need to do is place the brush itself into it and plug it in. The Mia 2 was more compact but not as easy to charge as mine would fall off and I wouldn't know. The plus also seems to hold the charge very well.

Here are the brush heads

The Clarisonic Brush uses the 'Sonic technology' this means there is no vibrations and no spinning done. It works with your skins natural elasticity, it oscillates at a sonic frequency of 300 movements per second.  It helps to loosen all the dirt and oil from the skin, therefore helping any pores to reduce.

Another awesome thing about this brush is that it's waterproof. You can take the brush itself into the shower so you can use the body brush, obviously keep the charger away from water!

Now, onto how I use mine....

I remove my eye make up by using a cotton pad and solution. I then wet the brush head, apply a cleanser to my face (over my makeup) and use the brush. I don't use the timers as I like to use it until I feel like my skin is thoroughly clean, especially those parts where I have large pores, I then go on and do my usual routine.

The key here is not to push the brush onto you face, I let it glide over the skin, this way it will work more effectively as you aren't putting pressure on the head itself.

I use my Plus everyday, in the evening. I love the clean feeling it leaves me with, it also leaves my skin feeling smooth and not tight at all. I have noticed a huge difference in the pores on my nose, I have those horrid big pores that look like black heads and short of trying to exfoliate them everyday with something harsh, I found that nothing would keep them reduced, but this does. I love that I don't have to use anything that will eventually damage my skin because it is so harsh.

I haven't yet tried the Cleansers that came with the brush as my skin is being a little difficult due to pregnancy, I didn't want to start using something else it wasn't used to as well as the Clarisonic, I do however plan on introducing the gel cleanser and see if that makes an added difference.

I used the body brush for the first time yesterday and really liked it. I just lightly went over my arms, shoulders and elbows. Besides the fact that it was quite relaxing, it took all the dry skin skin away and left my arms feeling smooth.

I will say that I will never be without one of these again. It's so nice to use the brush, then apply a tonic on a cotton pad and not see any make up there, (hand washing my make up off never worked) I have become a little obsessed with having clean skin at the moment and this leaves me relaxed in knowing that I'm not going to bed with half a face of make up on still. Now, if it could only get rid of dark under eye circles!!!

Have you used one of the Clarisonic brushes? I would love to know your thoughts.

To find out more information on the brushes go to the Clarisonic Site where you can find written information and videos on how to use the brushes.
