REVIEW: MAC PREP + PRIME TRANSLUCENT POWDER

MY HOLY GRAIL POWDER!

Most of us have heard of this powder by now, it has been out for what seems like forever. This makes me a little ashamed to say that I have only just started using it.

The reason I bought it was because once I moved and started travelling back to the UK on a regular basis, I would always find myself at the MAC counter in Duty Free, this powder was recommended to me by one of the lovely girls that worked there.  It all sounded great, so I purchased it. However, I wasn't blogging at this stage and didn't really use powder, so can you believe I just stuck it in the drawer (sshhh don't tell my hubby!).

Anyway, I have been rearranging the master bedroom as we are expecting twin girls, this means lots of things have to be moved and sorted to make way for moses baskets etc whilst they are small. This meant I came across this powder again, still in the box, all sparkling and brand new.

I had to try it and haven't put it down since.

My skin has really changed throughout my pregnancy and I find myself a little oilier under my eyes than I once was.... this makes this product the ultimate find!

I know lots of people will say, well why not just use a normal powder, but I'm super fussy and end up not liking the way they look on my skin, they tend to make me orange or look cakey...neither a good look in my opinion.

This does take away that lovely dewy glow, but at the moment I would like my make up to stay more than two hours and this makes that happen. It's perfect as it's a translucent powder so it doesn't make me orange and definitely doesn't make me look cakey.

It comes in this lovely small pot (perfect for travelling). The only tip I will give is don't put a black top on, then apply this. I always end up getting it on myself where there is excess powder on the brush.

I just use this under my eyes and on my t zone. I'm so glad I purchased it and re-found it! It shall remain in my make up bag forever!

Do you like these translucent powders?

  1. I agree, regular powders look way too cakey and orange on my skin, so I prefer translucent powders as well. I have the MAC Pro translucent setting powder, and I like it a lot. It's very similar to this one I guess.
